Curtis PC Programmer 1309 V2.2.7 Program
Size: 15.0MB
Interface: English, German
Release Notes
Enhancements
1) A problem with low active bit parameters being reversed has been addressed.
Outstanding Issues
1) Installation location is currently fixed; it has been requested to allow the location to be specified during the install.
2) Disconnecting a controller while viewing either the Test or Diagnostic screens can result in a delay of 10 to 30 seconds before the Programmer detects the situation.
3) While enhancements have been made to handling errors while communicating with the controller, there are still several areas that require review and enhancement. The download process is one are that needs a complete review.
4) Protocol timeouts are too short-they should be a minimum of 1 sec. Also, some are processor speed dependent, which can lead to communication failures on very faster or very slow processors.
5) Parameter value changes are not being communicated efficiently to the controller, resulting in reduced controller EEPROM life. This is due to inaccurate adherence to the controller communication protocols.
6) Download functionality is confusing and may require a change to the user interface of the programmer.
7) Button accelerators are not available for German or French versions.
8) Connecting a controller to the programmer with an incompatible model loaded can lead to unpredictable problems. Care must be taken to insure that the model loaded matches the controller connected.
PC Programmer 1309 v2.02.0006

1) Scrolling the program grid down and then back up would allow incorrect values to be assigned to a parameter. Depending on the parameter and the value range, the application could get errors or the value could be set beyond the allowable range.
2) When the 'Open Model' dialog was canceled, the 'Program' but wasn't always available. This has been fix.
3) When viewing the 'Testing' dialog box, in the French version, the full text of the current value wasn't always visible.
4) Correction to the French translations have been made.
5) Release notes are now distributed in the installation. Also, a shortcut to the notes is created on the start menu.
Outstanding Issues

PC Programmer 1309 v2.02.0003
Release Notes
Enhancements
1) The download function appeared to fail when the connected controller doesn't match the controller in the model. Now, the compatibility will be verified prior to the download, and a message will be displayed if there is an incompatibility.
2) The access privileges of parameters in a saved model were not being evaluated. This caused Factory level parameters to be available in an OEM or User Programmer. Privileges will now be evaluated when the model is loaded.
Outstanding Issues
1) Installation location is currently fixed; it has been requested to allow the location to be specified during the install.
2) Disconnecting a controller while viewing either the Test or Diagnostic screens can result in a delay of 10 to 30 seconds before the Programmer detects the situation.

7) When the 'Open Model' dialog is canceled, the 'Program' button isn't made available, until either the application is restarted or a model file is loaded.
8) Button accelerators are not available for German or French versions.
PC Programmer 1309 v2.02.0002
Release Notes
Enhancements
1) Loading an existing model file would fail every other time.
2) Loading an existing model file could cause the Programmer to generate an error.
3) Extra sheets of paper would be printed when printing the model of a controller. Also, the format of the report has been enhanced to display the controller information on each page, the page number of the second and subsequent pages, and 1" top, bottom and left margins.
4) Additional German translation corrections have been made.
5) The 'Program' button was too narrow in the German version; it has been expanded to show the entire text.
6) Installation of OEM and User versions installed the Factory version instead.
7) The copyright date has been updated to 2001.
Outstanding Issues
1) It has been reported that the download function is not functioning. A review of the code indicates that the proper steps are being performed, although there is one situation where the download would not take place. Before the download can proceed, the Programmer verifies that the headers are compatible. This process may be flawed and will be reviewed.
2) Installation location is currently fixed; it has been requested to allow the location to be specified during the install.
3) Disconnecting a controller while viewing either the Test or Diagnostic screens can result in a delay of 10 to 30 seconds before the Programmer detects the situation.

7) Download functionality is confusing and may require a change to the user interface of the programmer.
PC Programmer 1309 v2.02.0001
Release Notes
Enhancements
1) The Programmer didn't handle bit type parameters properly, which prevented the user from toggling between 'ON' and 'OFF'.
2) The width of the parameter name column was to narrow in non-English locales, cutting off a portion of the name.
3) Corrections to German and French translations have been made.
4) Support for all German and French locales has been included.
Outstanding Issues
1) Installation location is currently fixed; it has been requested to allow the location to be specified during the install.

6) Download functionality is confusing and may require a change to the user interface of the programmer.
PC Programmer 1309 v2.02.0000
Release Notes
Enhancements
1) Controller headers and parameter blocks are now checked for accurate uploads using checksums and expected sizes.
2) The controller parameters, test values, and diagnostic information will now be displayed in the language of the controller, not the language of the computer system. Application menus, buttons, and dialog boxes will continue to display the language of the systems locale.
3) Parameter changes could be lost if the controller was disconnected or suffered a power failure due to an incomplete adherence to the communication protocol. A work-around has been implemented pending a more complete solution.
4) During an upload, the programmer appeared to be locked. The programmer now responds to user interaction-such as moving, minimizing. Also, a visual indication of the communication to the controller is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the application. While the upload proceeds, the application will ignore exit requests.
5) Disconnecting the controller during an upload would cause the application to freeze. Additional error checking has been added to more quickly detect this condition and alert the user accordingly. An incomplete upload will be disregarded.
6) If the controller is disconnected while the Test or Diagnostic screens are being viewed, the application will no longer freeze.
7) The 'Save Model As...' now warns the user if they attempt to overwrite an existing model file. They can allow the override or cancel it.
8) The programmer now supports controllers with a 1243 Spyglass interface. The Spyglass will be deactivated while the programmer is active.
9) Approximately 20K of memory were used and never freed after each upload of a controller.
Outstanding Issues
1) While enhancements have been made to handling errors while communicating with the controller, there are still several areas that require review and enhancement. The download process is one are that needs a complete review.
2) Protocol timeouts are too short-they should be a minimum of 1 sec. Also, some are processor speed dependent, which can lead to communication failures on very faster or very slow processors.
3) Parameter value changes are not being communicated efficiently to the controller, resulting in reduced controller EEPROM life. This is due to inaccurate adherence to the controller communication protocols.
4) Download functionality is confusing and may require a change to the user interface of the programmer.
5) Incomplete and inaccurate language translations.
